What's New

new IC Fun-Fly was held on 18th Sept - Overall winner was Dave Harbour - full results on comps page - pics to follow

Rookie 2 took place on 7th August - Final results on the comps. Congratulations to John Turner for winning the 2022 trophy. Pictures will appear in the gallery (eventually)

Rookie round 1 took place on 3rd July, the winner was John Turner. Round 2 is scheduled for 31st July (postponed from 24th due to unsuitable weather conditions).

Please note that on some occasions the gate to the forest track will be locked. If this is the case the code to unlock it is as noted on the 2021 membership card. It was removed for 2022 as the gate was not being used, clearly there has been a change of policy. Please call or text 07775-938631 or any committee member if you have a problem. You can leave the gate open on entering the track and you do not need to re-lock it on leaving. If it needs to be re-locked this will be dealt with by security.

World record attempt - To celebrate the BMFA's centenary the BMFA organised an attempt at a world record for having the greatest number of model aircraft in the air at one time. This took place on 15th May at noon. NVA Contributed 13 to the national number - pictures and details to follow.

The Electric Fun-Fly competition also took place on 15th May. The overall winner was John Turner. Detailed results are on the comps page and pictures will appear in the gallery sometime soon.

Indoor flying has has finished for 2022

2022 competitions calendar added

Please note that the code for access to the car park will change on (or very soon after) 1st Jan 2022. The new number is on the 2022 membership card. If you have paid and have yet to receive your card, please contact John (07775-938631) or Alan. There is no gate (and hence no number) to the forest track.

Please note that your new (very long) CAA opertor number must be displayed on all models but the CAA has confirmed that this new number will NOT be changed every year. The CAA regrets that this number is so long but it is regulated by an EU directive that the UK (DoT) agreed adopt since the UK formally left the EU. (if it is any consolation, the guy from the CAA also thinks the length of the number is daft)

-* By now all members should have received their CAA operator ID number. No model should take to the air without this number on the aircraft is accordance with the CAA's requirements. These can be found here

* The code to the flying field gate was changed on 1st January every year. The new code is on the membership card. The code to the electric forest gate (when it's working) or a combination lock when fitted, remains unchanged. Any questions contact a member of the committee or click here to e-mail.

Only those that have indicated that they would like to be on our mailing list will receive update e-mails from NVA - contact the webmaster if you have any questions.

*A privacy policy has been incorporated into the club's constitution in order to comply with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) legislation. This policy can be found on the "Rules" page and scrolling down to Section 5.

*Para 3.16 has been added to the constitution/rules document. This notes that members must comply with the CAA registration requirements. This addition was passed unanimously by member vote at the 2019 AGM *Reminder - Only paid-up members and those registered as operators with the CAA are insured.

The 2021 membership form can be downloaded here.

* No member (fixed wing or helicopter) should fly unsupervised unless they hold at least a BMFA "A" certificate . Members wishing to take the relevant test should contact Andy Hibbert or Dave Harbour to arrange a suitable time with an examiner.
